Betsey Leopard Johnson Style

Betsey Johnson, recognizable because of her wild blonde hair and bright lipstick, is a quirky little designer.  I love most of her things, although I am rather picky about what I actually would wear from her collections.

I LOVE her watches.  No doubt about that.

I also love some of her dresses, as they are fun and spunky.

Pictured above is my leopard print Betsey Johnson watch.  It was a Christmas present that I had been drooling over.

As far as watches go, the watches below are cute, fun AND rather affordable.  Okay, okay, maybe the owl watch is a little costly, but the others aren't too costly in the grand scheme of things...

All of the Betsey Johnson watches pictured below can be found at Macy's.  I posted my absolute favorite ones from this year-- they are still available to purchase online or in-store!

1.  Betsey Johnson owl watch - $185
2.  Betsey Johnson polka dot watch - $85
3.  Betsey Johnson red watch - $115
4.  Betsey Johnson leopard print watch (similar to mine!) - $95
5.  Betsey Johnson rose watch - $85

Luminous L'Oreal Paris

As you know, I am always excited to try new beauty products-- ones that are great for my sensitive skin.

Today I bought the new Magic Lumi light infusing primer and True Match super blend-able blush from L'Oreal Paris.  I am a bit of a blush fanatic, so that's no surprise, but the primer was solely because Marie Claire prompted me to do so.

Both Marie Claire and Vogue have a coupon for $2 off a few of the L'Oreal Paris face primers and concealers.  I tried the actual sample in Marie Claire as well and was impressed.  The primer was so soft and had a fresh scent to it (not too strong of a smell though!).

Looking for the issue coupon?  Check out the May Marie Claire issue featuring Zooey Deschanel on the cover or the May Vogue issue featuring Scarlet Johansson on the cover.

My skin is so sensitive, so I have to be extra careful of what I put on my face!

This primer is fabulous!!!  I have already worn it for most of the day, and my skin looks fresh, soft, and rejuvenated.  I apply the primer, and then top it off with my light L'Oreal powder concealer.  Check out the primer on L'Oreal's website here.

The blush has been great too.  The color is "innocent flush" and it is a cross between peachy and pink.  It looks wonderful-- a soft glow.  Check out the blush and other colors here.

Here is my cheesy product shot from my bathroom.

To save

Rite Aid has a deal in-store for buy-one-get-one-half-off on all L'Oreal Paris products right now.  You may also use any other coupons and combine them with that deal.  I used my $2 Marie Claire coupon and another in-store Rite Aid coupon for $1 off.
L'Oreal also has a $1 off coupon available online.  To get that coupon,  click here and look at the bottom of the page for the coupon.

Happy skin!

Dollhouse Denim

I found these fabulous shorts in an ad in Seventeen.  These Dollhouse denim shorts can be found at Macy's for $24.50 (they're a few more dollars online).

I love the crochet pockets.  I feel like the picture of them below doesn't really show them off so well, but you get the idea...

See them online at Macy's here.

If your screen is too bright, look closely.  There are crochet pockets that stick out.  Kind of cute!

Silver Rings and Things

I'm a bit crazy about my sterling silver rings.  They're a style staple for me.

My secret?  Besides my spoon rings that I've purchased at the Saturday Market, I have bought ALL of my other silver rings at Kohl's.  I know-- it's a bit random.  Kohl's prices are great for their silver rings and they have wonderful designs.

I've had several of my Kohl's rings for 3+ years, and they still look fabulous.

My hands look kind of weird, huh?  Or maybe it's just me...

As far as rings at Kohl's-- below are some current styles that are available online.  Most of these rings are available in-store as well.  I have bought all of mine in store.

1.  Love ring in sterling silver - $16
2.  Filigree sterling silver ring (I have this one) - $20
3.  Vine bypass ring in sterling silver - $18
4.  Snake ring in sterling silver (my new favorite!) - $22
5.  Sterling silver band (I wear this one on my thumb) - $16
6.  Sterling silver openwork ring (I wear this one on my pinky) - $7.99

But really, how cool is that snake ring!?

Style Inspired and Maxi Fever

I was hasty to put together a cover for my hardbound sketch book this morning.  Technically, the book is not used for sketching, but for putting together collages of inspirational pictures.  This is for my graphics class.  I had to put this model on the cover because she is wearing the Spring 2012 Miu Miu  fire boots. Yes.

Below are the boots on the runway.  Most major fashion magazines have featured these Miu Miu boots.
I don't see myself wearing them, but the style is rebellious and risky.  I like that about them.  You can see the other colors on Style.com.

As far as being inspired, you may remember seeing one of my previous posts that I published regarding my D.I.Y. lace maxi skirt.  I have seen several more skirts since then.

Take a peek as these maxis-- all from Target.

1.  Black polka dot maxi - $19.99
2.  Blue floral maxi - $19.99
3.  Black sheer maxi - $19.99

Throw on a tank, some gladiator sandals, or wedges if you're short like me, and off you go!

Summer Sweater

Picture this-- breezy summer evening, sun setting, and you're at a bbq.  I have the perfect outfit in mind.

Light sweater, cuffed jean shorts, simple jewelry, and a skinny belt.  Yes, perfect summer evening outfit.

I was inspired today by a sweater that I bought today at GAP for $9.99.  Happy birthday me! Take a peek! And try to ignore my "ohhh picture?" face. Ha.

Sweater- GAP
Belt- JC Penny
Jean Shorts- Joe's from Macy's
Necklace- Forever21
Silver Rings- Kohl's

I have owned all of these things (besides the sweat of course!) since last year and before...

I wanted to put together an outfit that can be bought now!  Everything I put together below is online and some items are in store.

1.  Old Navy sweater - $9.99 (on sale online and still available in ALL sizes!)
2.  American Eagle denim cuff shorts - $36.50
3.  Forever21 leopard print belt - $4.80

P.S.  The $12 turquoise stone necklace from my previous blog post would go perfect with this outfit!!!

Dainty Charm Jewelry

I remember seeing a necklace on Lauren Conrad in a photo.  The necklace was dainty and had a small pearl charm on the end.  I often wear large and chunky necklaces, but her dainty chain made me think that I should try something, well, more dainty.

Two summers ago, I came across a gold giraffe necklace at the J Crew Factory store.  The necklace cost $14.  I usually try to buy jewelry more inexpensively (maybe $6?), but I knew that if I bought this necklace I would wear it often.  Besides, as I grow more and more into my own personal style, I realize that I am willing to spend more for quality and style.  Why buy a $2 necklace if it's hideous?

Anyhow, now that I'm off that tangent...

Surprise! I was perusing Nordstrom.com... and I came across three necklaces.

Now, before you look below, remember that Nordstrom has free online shipping on everything.  I know, I know-- I'm a horribly encouraging person.

I just love these pretty necklaces.  They are perfect to wear alone, or would also be great for layering with your other favorite necklaces.

1.  Gold elephant charm necklace with facet dangle.  $12
2.  Entangled wire turquoise stone necklace.  $12
3.  Antique brasstone wishbone necklace.  $10

And remember folks, free shipping.

Beauty Rush My Eyes

I was not expecting Beauty Rush eye shadow from Victoria's Secret to be that great.  Yet, after trying it two years ago,  I quickly realized how magnificent it is.

The colors are soft, but still noticeable, and the color actually stays throughout the day.

For Easter dinner, I decided to use a soft purple so that I could show off my spring colors.

This wet-dry eye shadow is relatively inexpensive.

The shadow is 2 for $12 or 4 for $20.  I have practically every color that's available.  I frequently use "gold rush" and "bronzinger" and mix them with my Maybelline "Champagne Fizz" shadow.

1.  Beauty Rush Shadow Duos pictured in "Pink on Earth", "Silvered Dollars", and "Blue Bellini".

2.  Beauty Rush Shadow "Plum Bubbly" that I am wearing in the first photo.  I used the purple on my lid and used the lighter pink on my creases.

3.  Beauty Rush Wet/Dry Shadow.  (I use these ones the most!)  Pictured "Gold Rush" and a green shadow that is unnamed online.

Try them out and let me know what you think!

Rachel Bilson Is Always Stunning

Rachel Bilson would look good dressed in a paper bag.  She carries herself with confidence and she has amazing style.  I say this not just because I met her, but because it is so true!

(But it does help that she is a sweet and down-to-earth girl too!)

Take a peek at these photos and let them inspire you like they did me.

From summer shorts to big cozy sweaters.  This girl's got style down.

Studded Heels and Blush/Nude for Spring

I recently discovered a new way of creating collages for my blog.  Below is my second-ever-made glog. Yes, a glog-- it's basically an online poster.

I went a little shoe crazy and decided to track down stylish studded heels and chic nude and blush tone heels for spring.  You may like what you see below...

I chose my favorites to share with you.  Style on.

Tip: Click the top right hand corner icon on the glog that looks like a square.  It will make the glog bigger for your viewing and you can click on pictures to make them pop out for easier viewing.

My D.I.Y. Lace Maxi Skirt

You may have seen my post on the maxi skirt that I was drooling over at Forever21 a few weeks ago...  I have seen many of the long maxi skirts made of sheer fabric with a short covering mini skirt underneath.  I absolutely love this style, but this style of skirt hasn't seemed to work for me.  I have tried on multiple brands at the mall.

First, they are often too long for my short legs.  Second, the mini skirt liner underneath has been made of cheap fabric that clings to my backside and makes the skirt very static.

This is how my spring break D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) story came to be.

In protest, I decided to make my own skirt.  I had visualized EXACTLY what I wanted it to look like.

So, I went to the fabric store and bought these two fabrics:

After buying the fabrics and elastic waist band for a total of $15, I let the supplies sit in my room for the majority of spring break.  Finally, just two days before I was set to head back to school, I decided to make the lace maxi skirt that I so badly wanted.  I had no pattern, just the thought of EXACTLY how I wanted it.  My mother was a little skeptical.

Below is a little overview of my process...

It took me a total of 4.5 hours to make.  I started late on March 30th and finished it on the 31st.

Take a gander at my finished product.  I am pleased with it -- to say the least.

I'm a little excited to create something else.  My own mother was impressed by my sewing abilities.  I made sure to finish all of the edges and have clean finishing on all the seams.  The details make it appear store bought.

I'll admit, I'm kind of proud. :)
